Chaumont-Sur-Loire International Garden Festival

Garden Exhibit, France
“Thornrose – A Garden of Thorny Delights” was a collaborative effort with acclaimed architects Nevena Krilic and Niels de Bruin. Inspired by a modern take on the classic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty in the Wood, our aim was to create a distinctive and alluring garden full of prickly, imaginative charm. Among 300 submissions, our project was chosen as one of only 20 gardens to be constructed in the world’s most prestigious garden show held at 10th century castle Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire in France.

The theme for 2012 was “Gardens of Delight, Gardens of Delirium” commemorating the 20th anniversary of the garden show hosted in the Loire Valley. Our garden very much emitted a bewitching aura full of thorny delights be it wonderful roses or wild thistles. To gain entrance, visitors first had to navigate a large rose wall after which they were greeted with our unique gazebo designed with a modern swing for play or tranquillity. Our idea was to create an enchanted world where you could decide if you wanted to be the prince or the evil fairy. Titan Homes was fully involved in the planning and construction of the exhibit, including all carpentry, landscaping and gardening.
